That being said…. I started doing this in small areas when Brecken was born and have just continued to build on it ever since, especially now since I have a daughter who reacts to EVERYTHING processed! This was not a overhaul type of thing, which would have completely overwhelmed me, but more gradual.
I will tell you the truth about my homemade Ranch Dressing Mix…
This stuff is amazing!!!!!!!
I am a foodie and DO NOT sacrifice taste for healthy!!!!
So everything I post on this site is kid-approved, husband-approved wonderfulness:-)
This Dry Powder Ranch Mix is great mixed in with ground beef for burgers on the grill…
Great on Baked Broccoli with some garlic and a little cheese….
Great on shrimp scampi (healthier version:-)…
And the obvious… Great as Ranch dip and dressing!
The possibility are endless and I am never without a jar of this made and ready in my kitchen.
- 5 Tbsp. dried minced onion or onion powder
- 7 tsp. parsley
- 4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- If you use minced onion, grind it up fine in a blender. Add the other ingredients and lightly pulse 4-5 times until mixed. Store the dry ingredients in a cute glass jar for the aesthetic appeal of it all;-)
Making the mix into Healthy Ranch Dressing:
2 Tbsp. Dry Mix
1/2 c. Sour Cream
1/2 c. Plain Yogurt
A little Milk to make it runny to your liking.
Add some Lemon Juice.
Mix together and store up to 1 week in the fridge.
The more unhealthy but delicious Ranch Dressing:
2 Tbsp. Dry Mix
1 c. Mayo
1 c. Buttermilk or sour cream (depending on if you want a dressing or a dip)
Mix together and store in fridge up to a week.
Look at that!!!! You got 3 recipes in one post!!!!!
